ID Card Studio
Turn a folder of photos into finished, print-ready ID cards.
ID Card Studio turns a folder of student or staff photos into finished ID cards on your school's own card design. It finds the face in each photo and centers it, takes each name from the file name, and lets you adjust any card before downloading them as a ZIP. It's for front offices, HR and yearbook teams who would otherwise line up every photo by hand.

All 20 features
16 of them can be tried in the demo.
Making cards
- Batch photo upload
- Drag in a whole folder of JPG or PNG photos at once. Try it: Batch photo upload
- Names from file names
- Each card's name comes from its photo's file name, so a folder named by student is ready to go. Try it: Names from file names
- Face-aware cropping
- Finds the face in each photo and centers it in the round photo frame. Phone photos are turned the right way up first. Try it: Face-aware cropping
- Your card design
- Photos, names and titles are placed on your school's own card template. Try it: Your card design
- Original pictures library
- Keep source photos in a private library with search, and delete the ones you no longer need. Big uploads are split into smaller pieces automatically. Try it: Original pictures library
- Pick from list
- Add photos to a new batch straight from the library. Each batch gets its own copy, so removing a library photo never affects cards already made. Try it: Pick from list
Adjusting a card
- Zoom and position
- Nudge the zoom and move the photo up, down, left or right, with a live preview. Try it: Zoom and position
- Name and title fields
- Edit the text, font and size of the name and title lines separately. Try it: Name and title fields
- Drag and resize text
- Move and resize the name and title boxes right on the card preview.
- Text that fits
- Long names shrink to fit, then wrap onto two lines if they still don't.
- Snap guides
- Text boxes snap to the center of the card, and the name snaps to the standard distance under the photo, so every card lines up.
- Font choice
- A set of sans, serif and slab fonts in regular and bold.
Downloads and history
- Download one or many
- Download a single card, or tick the ones you want and get them in one ZIP file. Try it: Download one or many
- Card history
- Every card you've made is kept until you delete it, newest first, separate from the batch you're working on now. It stays with your account across sign-ins and browsers. Try it: Card history
- Search history
- Find any card by name, title or date. Ticked cards stay ticked while you search. Try it: Search history
- Badge and list views
- See cards as badges or as compact rows with title and date. Your choice is remembered. Try it: Badge and list views
- Re-edit old cards
- Open any card from history in the Adjust window, with its saved photo position, name and title already filled in. Try it: Re-edit old cards
- Download or delete selected
- Download a set of cards from history as one ZIP, or remove old cards in bulk. Original pictures are not touched. Try it: Download or delete selected

- Staff logins
- Each user signs in to their own workspace, so batches from different offices never mix. Try it: Staff logins
- User management

How student data is handled
- Photos and finished cards are stored on the app's server, in each staff member's own account.
- Each person signs in with their own login, so batches from different offices never mix. Admins add and remove users.
- Face detection runs on the app's server. Photos are not sent to an outside face-recognition service.
- Cards and original photos are kept until you delete them, and can be deleted in bulk.
Common questions
Do photos need to be cropped first?
No. The app finds the face in each photo, turns phone photos the right way up and centers the face in the photo frame. You can still nudge the zoom and position on any card.
How do names get onto the cards?
Each card's name comes from its photo's file name, so a folder of photos named by person is ready to go. Names and titles can be edited per card.
Can we use our own card design?
Yes. Photos, names and titles are placed on your school's own card template.
Are photos sent to another company?
No. Face detection runs on the app's own server, and photos stay in your staff accounts until you delete them.
